The event draws around 100 coaches and cyclists from the 12 strongest teams across the country including HCMC, Domesco Dong Thap, ADC-Vinh Long TV, An Giang Plant Protection and Hanoi, and an international CNN team.
After the opening ceremony, the cyclists will compete in a race around Hoan Kiem Lake which will be broadcast live by VTV and then enter the race of different stages of Hanoi-Thanh Hoa (July 16th), Thanh Hoa-Ha Tinh (July 17th), Ha Tinh-Quang Binh (July 18th), Quang Binh-Truong Son Martyrs’ Cemetery (July 19th) and around Quang Tri Ancient Citadel on July 20th.
The race aims to educate young people about the heroic tradition of their ancestors, who sacrificed their lives for national independence and freedom in the past resistance wars.
During the race, the cyclists will have exchanges, pay tribute to martyrs at martyrs’ cemeteries, visit and present gifts to Heroic Vietnamese Mothers, martyrs’ families, war invalids, needy war veterans and local beneficiaries.
