Numerous advanced innovations debut at VIIE 2023

Along with the opening ceremony of NIC Hoa Lac campus, VIIE 2023 also opened at the innovation hall and will take place until November 1.

VIIE aims to create a space for sharing of leading innovative ideas and products, promote interaction and connection between businesses and the community, sparking inspiration and unlock innovation capacity, and opening up potential cooperation opportunities.

The event focuses on smart manufacturing, smart cities, hydrogen, digital media, semiconductors, healthcare, environmental tech, and cybersecurity.

There were almost 300 booths from Vietnam's top technology companies like Viettel, VNPT, Sovico, Masan, Becamex, VinFast, CT Group, and Mobifone; as well as foreign giants such as SK, Samsung, SpaceX, Meta, Intel, Signify; and numerous research institutes and universities.

Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung said this is an important event to promote innovation in Vietnam.

"The event aims to gather all subjects, resources, and innovative ideas; cooperate and create new groundbreaking and high-value technologies, solutions and products; and spread the spirit, values, and benefits of innovation to people, businesses and the whole country. This is also a way for Vietnam to enhance its position and role in the regional and world innovation map," he said.

VIIE 2023 will feature hundreds of exhibition areas and dozens of seminars over the the five days.

"This is the most important innovation event of the year, opening up many opportunities and values to participating parties, promoting Vietnam's innovation ecosystem to develop quickly and sustainably," the minister emphasised.

On the same day, the Samsung Innovation Campus lab and Chip Design Incubation Centre were officially inaugurated. The lab confirms the South Korean corporation's commitment to actively supporting NIC to become a cradle in training technology talent, leading future national innovation.

During the VIIE, numerous conferences are also being held, like the Vietnam Venture Summit, Better Choice Awards, Vietnam Semiconductor Summit, a conference on energy transition and green hydrogen development, events on the gaming industry, corporate innovation, blockchain, healthcare, and much more.

"The event reaffirms the role of the MPI as a general advisory agency of the government on socioeconomic development strategies and growth model innovation, in which NIC is a pioneer in the innovation journey," Minister Dung urged.

Additionally, the presence of innovative technology corporations and businesses will create attraction for satellite businesses, and the innovation ecosystem will create a spillover effect and raise the aspirations and motivation for startups and innovative individuals to create advanced technologies and breakthrough solutions, he added.
