Millionaire Bayer Farmers 2022-2023 contest culminates in a jubilant final night |
After an exhilarating series of challenges, the Hanh Anh team from Can Tho city emerged victorious during the Final Night of the Millionaire Bayer Farmers 2022-2023 contest, earning the title of the most knowledgeable group of farmers.
The contest provided a vibrant platform for farmers to unwind, enjoy, and share laughter, all while fostering connections and exchanging updated agricultural knowledge. Through this contest, Bayer reaffirmed its dedication to supporting the advancement of Vietnamese farmers.
Through the exciting preliminary rounds and semi-finals, eight excellent teams were brought together from prominent rice-growing provinces in the Mekong Delta, including Long An, Tra Vinh, Can Tho, An Giang, and Kien Giang. In a gripping finale, they competed in terms of farming knowledge and artistic talent through three challenges.
The first challenge, "Erudite Farmer”, involved a multiple-choice test focusing on agricultural knowledge. In "The Versatile Farmer" round, contestants were tasked with creating compelling scenes to depict the realities of farming. Lastly, the "Integrated Farmer" challenge involved a direct interview session with a panel of expert judges.
The questions and scenarios set by the panel revolved around the common challenges facing farmers. These ranged from effective pest and weed management techniques to optimizing resources and cost savings while maintaining high-quality, high-yield crops. The situations were presented through creative animations that brought entertaining moments and showed the unique artistry of southern farmers.
Ultimately, the Hanh Anh team from Co Do, Can Tho, emerged as the champions of the Millionaire Bayer Farmers 2022-2023 contest. Their remarkable and vibrant presentation, combined with their impressive performance during the interview section, impressed the jury. As a reward for their victory, each member of the team will be awarded a 125cc motorcycle.
In addition to the first-place prize, the Organising Committee also awarded the second prize upon the Lam Hoa team from Hon Dat in Kien Giang. Each of whom was rewarded with a 380L refrigerator.
The third-place finishers, the My Xuyen team from Rach Gia, Kien Giang, receives a prize of a 32-inch TV for each member. In addition, participants from the consolation prize winning teams was also granted a premium air fryer as a token of recognition.
The esteemed panel of judges for the final night comprised Chu Van Hach, former head of the Cultivation Department at the Mekong Delta Rice Institute, as along with agricultural solutions experts and managers from Bayer Vietnam. In addition, the competition also drew the participation of an artistic jury, including MC Thanh Bach and renowned artists Thanh Hang and Vu Thanh Vinh.
The programme was broadcast live on the Vinh Long 3 TV channel and rerun on Bayer Crop Science Vietnam's Facebook Fan page and YouTube channel, attracting 20,000 views altogether.
As a member of the artistic jury for the final night, Vu Thanh Vinh expressed deep admirationfor the contestants, “The participants demonstrated extensive farming experience and an admirable commitment to tending to their fields. It has been an honor to witness their exceptional talent and gain a deeper appreciation for their unwavering dedication. I wholeheartedly commend and encourage these farmers to persist in their efforts to advance the agricultural sector. Despite the persistent challenges posed by unpredictable weather, pests, diseases, and volatile market prices, I firmly believe that with unwavering determination, steadfast faith, and indomitable spirit, they will triumph, ensuring a sustainable food supply for society and earning the status of millionaires in the hearts of many people."
