Military team wins national Karatedo champs

The Military team successfully defended their title at the 17th National Youth Karatedo Championships, which concluded in Can Tho city on August 12.

The team bought home a medal haul of seven golds, three silvers and eight bronze medals. The Police team came second after winning seven golds, two silvers and two bronze medals.

The team from Binh Duong secured third place with five golds, two silvers and two bronze medals, while the hosts Can Tho ranked sixth with four gold medals, two silver and three bronze.

The championships were jointly held by the Vietnam Karatedo Federation and the Can Tho municipal Department for Culture, Sports and Tourism.

The event attracted more than 400 athletes from 36 provinces and cities nationwide, who competed in both kumite (combat) and kata (performance) disciplines for 45 sets of medals in three age groups: 14-16, 16-18, and 18-22.
