Norwegian Super Grandmaster, Magnus Carlsen, remained on top of the world rankings with an Elo rating of 2861, followed by Vladimir Kramnik (Elo 2810) from Russia and Levon Aronian (Elo 2802) from Armenia.
Top Vietnamese female chess player, Pham Le Thao Nguyen, rated 2426, also crept up one place from 52nd to 51st in the women’s world standings, while Nguyen Thi Mai Hung, rated 2272, produced an eight-spot leap to 18th in the FIDE girls’ rankings for January.
