What distinctive features will make LG’s brand shops more outstanding than your distributors’ outlets and showrooms, which have appealed to local consumers?

First of all, our brand shops will be designed and operated pursuant to LG’s latest standards. Under the banner ‘An entertaining shopping ambience’, the brand shops will host a premium range of LG products ranging from household appliance line-ups with LCD TVs, fridges, air-conditioners, washing machines, ovens to smart handsets, tablets, and compelling 3D products in their latest versions. Customers can also pick up genuine LG accessories there.

Specifically, the brand shops will offer consumers the opportunity to experience LG’s latest product innovations first hand. Customers can interact with any items of their interest getting heartfelt support from the team of LG staff and consultants. Parallel to introducing customers the entire spectrum of LG product ranges at one stop, LG brand shops promise to turn customers’ monotonous shopping experience into a pleasing entertainment.

LG Electronics has been focusing on manufacturing in Vietnam in its strategy to turn the country into a key production base globally. Do LG brand shops reflect LG Electronics Vietnam’s expansion arm into the retail industry?

Absolutely not. This one is a part of our strategy to expand more products in this important market. Through this channel, we want to provide more places for customers to come and tough all products. This model is also open to all who have the same strategy and operational experience and operational excellence, then we will work with any business partners to operate this brand shop. Needless to say, we would like to build up business partnership with our key customers and we would like to invite our customers to operate this brand shop together.

Vietnamese people’ purchasing power has been declining due to difficult economic conditions. Has this had any impact on your decision to start up your brand shops?

I can say that in the last six months we also had some difficulties, but in general, we have successfully managed and overcome these difficulties. LG is not a short-term brand and we wanted to see more long-term business here. We will also invest more if we see potential in Vietnam in the future, and we continue to invest together with our customers.

How many LG brand shops will you open in Vietnam?

We have a very big target to develop more brand shops across the country, but we have not given out a specific number. Our prime objective is to open more brand shops throughout rural and urban areas, via which we aim to providing more experiences for our Vietnamese consumers and introduce new premium product images to our customers.

A big supporter to Vietnamese talents

LG Electronics Vietnam is the principal sponsor of the Road to Olympia Peak, a TV-based quiz contest for secondary school students hosted by Vietnam Television’s VTV3.

The contest debuted in March 1999 and has grown into a pride of VTV3 and LG.  It consists of 36 weekly, 12 monthly, four quarterly and one final shows every year.
The laurel wreath bestowed on the winner has become the aspiration of generations of Vietnamese secondary school students in the past 12 years.

Dang Thai Hoang, a 12th grader at Hon Gai high-school in the northern Quang Ninh province, wore the laurel wreath of the 12th Road to Olympia Peak quiz contest at the finale held in Hanoi on June 24 with a total score of 250 points in four rounds.

Hoang became the high school’s first student to win the popular national quiz-show and will be awarded a scholarship worth $35,000 to study abroad.

“In the 12 years we have seen successes, excitement, pleasure and happiness for pupils, their families, teachers, for the programme’s producers as well as LG Electronics Vietnam. We are very proud to contribute to such a socially meaningful programme.

And we would like to continue more and more,” said LG Vietnam general director Ko Tae Yeon at the 12th Road to Olympia Peak quiz show awarding ceremony. “You [the quiz-show candidates] are admiring representatives of talent generations. I hope that all of you will focus on your studying, bring into play Olympia’s valued tradition and make all your efforts to contribute to the development of a prosperous Vietnam,” he added.
