The purchase happened in the context that the Vietnamese team has just successfully earned a place to participate in the tournament.
The tournament is going to be held from September 11 to October 2 in Colombia. K+, which is VSTV’s brand name, is going to broadcast all 52 games of the FIFA Futsal World Cup 2016 on both TV and mobile. K+ currently broadcasts two football tournaments namely the English Premier League and the La Liga.
Le Chi Cong, general director of VSTV, said that the operator also has prepared programmes that accompany the tournament in order to help viewers better understand futsal, the new pride of Vietnam. “In the near future we are also going to purchase the right for other tournaments with the participation of the Vietnamese team,” he added.
K+ is currently the only operator in Vietnam that has the right to broadcast the whole of the English Premier League, with 380 games, on TV and mobile, as well as owns the right to broadcast exclusively the best three games of each round. The operator also has the right to broadcast exclusively 380 games of La Liga in HD.
K+’s subscription fee is now VND125,000 ($5.6) per month. From now to September 11 customers can install K+ and enjoy the special price of VND990,000 ($44.4) for all HD equipment, compared to the current price of VND1.3 million ($58.3). K+ has 130 channels, with four channels produced by K+, 13 channels in HD, 76 in SD and 40 local channels. Subscribers of six other operators namely VTVCab, MyTV, HanoiCab, Viettel, FPT and HTVC can subscribe to K+ too at the same time, also for VND125,000 ($5.6) per month.
