The event co-organised by the Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI) and The Japan External Trade Organisation (JETRO) was part of activities hosted by JETRO to promote economic and trade connections and cooperation across all sectors.
The event was organised to introduce excellent Japanese companies that can contribute to building a foundation for the future and addressing social issues in Vietnam, thereby enhancing and expanding economic and trade cooperation relations between Vietnamese and Japanese enterprises.
According to JETRO, in recent years, cooperation in digital transformation and innovation fields has been focused on Vietnamese and Japanese businesses.
"The JCCI has 800 member companies. Although some Japanese companies are well-known, there are still many other excellent ones that are not. We want to introduce new image of Japanese companies to everyone," said Takeo Nakajima, chief representative of JETRO Hanoi.

He added that with a broader perspective, to achieve more sustainable economic growth in Vietnam, domestic trade needs to be promoted and invigorated. Vietnam has been heavily reliant on exports and foreign direct investment, the highest among ASEAN.
"To achieve high sustainable economic growth, developing the domestic market and expanding domestic business-to-business transactions is necessary. We hope this event will contribute to that goal," said Takeo Nakajima.
At the event, five Japanese companies operating in Vietnam, including Meiko Electronics Vietnam Co., Ltd, Misumi Vietnam, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Vietnam, Morinaga Nutritional Foods, and NTT East, introduced new business activities, plans, and services in Vietnam
For instance, a representative from Meiko Electronics, a company specialising in the design, manufacture, and production of various printed circuit boards, stated that they were implementing plans to expand and develop new business ventures in the Vietnamese market. This move is seen as an effort to capitalise on the growth potential in the high-tech sector and stay ahead of the recent trend of shifting global electronics supply chains to Vietnam.
Elsewhere, operating in the energy transition, smart social infrastructure, and cybersecurity sectors, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Vietnam brought solutions to the event aimed at reducing carbon emissions and enabling businesses to leverage financial support from the Japanese government through a Joint Crediting Mechanism. These contributions support the business community's collective efforts to address climate change and promote sustainable development.
