“Hristo Stoichkov” effect on Vietnam football

The sudden appearance of Hristo Stoichkov soon became the most remarkable event of the national media last week. At the same time, many press agencies around the world also announced the arrival of Bulgarian football legend to Vietnam for contract negotiation.

Until now, VFF leaders have not given any comments on the positive effects named Stoichkov, although Stoichkov’s appearance contributes to the reputation development of Vietnam football.

Only from the name, Hristo Stoichkov can prevail over the M.U. former footballer Bryan Robson, who is now the coach of Thailand national team. Not to mention the possibility that the talented ex-footballer of Barcelona signs the contract with VFF, the chance that Hristo Stoichkov can be the potential replacement for Henrique Calisto, the former coach of Vietnam national football team, is able to advance the prestige of Vietnam football higher than Thailand football.

The one-million-dollar funding from a company can strengthen the public belief beyond the cooperation between VFF and Stoichkov. It also proves that VFF does not use this news to attract any attention from the society.

After two meetings, the prospect that Hristo Stoichkov will lead Vietnam team remains an unanswered question. The legend footballer from Bulgaria needs more time to think over the strategies VFF is developing. On the other side, before making final decision, VFF leaders have to wait for their cooperator, who decides to spend one-million-dollar on Stoichkov’s salary, to put forward some terms and conditions.

In the worst situation that VFF and Stoichkov cannot reach their agreements, the appearance of Stoichkov can still positively speed up the negotiation process between VFF and two worthy German candidates, namely Hans Juergen Gede and Franz Goetz. 

There have been several reports that VFF is now demanded for high salary by the two candidates because they know that VFF will be placed under an intolerable pressure if there is not any coach to appear to the public in early May.

However, the appearance of a big name like Stoichkov may make Franz Goetz or Hans Juergen Gede accept to make some concessions in salary negotiations if they do not want to lose the contract with VFF to Stoichkov. 

Anyway, after all these things, the greatest benefits from the name Stoichkov still go to Vietnam football.
