The Honorary Consulate of Mexico in Ho Chi Minh City aims to enhance economic and cultural relations with Mexico |
Sara Valdes Bolano, Ambassador of Mexico to Vietnam, noted the instrumental role of the newly established Honorary Consulate in enhancing bilateral relations: "We look forward to the Honorary Consul's support in building sustainable partnerships in trade, investment, culture, and tourism."
The ambassador underscored friendship and cooperation ties between Mexico and Vietnam, congratulated the city authorities on recent economic achievements, and pointed out potential cooperation opportunities with Vietnam's most dynamic city in the areas of high-tech agriculture, transportation, cultural exchange, and tourism.
She thanked the city leaders for their support to the relations between Mexico and Ho Chi Minh City and to support Mexicans seeking consular assistance.
In turn, Honorary Consul Vu Minh Anh thanked the ambassador and the audience for the honour of representing Mexico in Vietnam's most vibrant city for its cultural and business environment. He expressed his determination to help promoting Mexico in Ho Chi Minh City, enhancing trade and the country's visibility through cultural and tourism promotion activities.

It has a strategic location and a strong commitment to international economic integration. Mexico has special economic and geopolitical significance for Vietnam in term of the former’s relations with North and South America.
Around 120 Mexicans live in Vietnam, more than half of them in Ho Chi Minh City. Bilateral trade between Mexico and Vietnam has reached $5 billion per year. More than 9,500 Mexican tourists visit Vietnam each year, while almost 4,000 Vietnamese tourists travel to Mexico every year.
