Spectacular performances at Lights 2020 will mark the beginning of the new decade

This year, New Year’s Countdown Lights 2020 will be staged with unique technology, promising to bring many surprises to the audience on the street and watching from their homes, live through HTV3 DreamsTV.

In its third consecutive year, with the theme Our People – Our Future – Our Home, Lights 2020 is expected to be the most spectacular party to welcome the new decade. People will have the opportunity to enjoy many special performances marking important milestones in the development of Vietnamese music and the entertainment industry through performances from the country’s top artists: Thanh Bui, Son Tung M-TP, Vu Cat Tuong, Ngot, Phan Manh Quynh, Vo Ha Tram, Do Hai Anh, LYRICÍST, BN, MINH & Hoaprox, Tuimi & Datmaniac… and the event will be hosted by the reputable Master of Ceremony – Tran Thanh. Along with its official music partner in BillBoard Vietnam, Director Dao Minh Vu, who hopes to bring a fresh breath into the city's art scene.

The event is organised by Binh Minh Group, powered by Amberstone Media, Capital Studio, and Novel Production in association with InQ Entertainment. The Major sponsor is Saigon Commercial Bank (SCB), with co-sponsors in Yamaha Music Vietnam.

This year’s line-up of artists features Vietnam’s top talents who are breaking the limits of creativity and geography to step out of Vietnam and bring their music to the world: Son Tung M-TP, the first Vietnamese artist to have collaborated with American rapper Snoop Dogg and also the first Vietnamese artist to own six music videos with over 100 million views on YouTube; Vu Cat Tuong – the first Vietnamese artist to appear at Asia Song Festival for two consecutive years; Ngot Band - Indie Pop 9X artists with a unique musical identity who have touched the hearts of millions; Phan Manh Quynh – a talented singer who “tells stories through music”; Vo Ha Tram – a female artist who is often referred to as "Vietnam’s Broadway singer"; rapper Datmaniac who is making waves with his authentic and heart-felt lyrics – he will also introduce other artists during the night such as returning German-Vietnamese Tuimi. Two idols from Vietnam Idol, Trong Hieu and BN, will also be sharing the stage.

In addition to these top indie, pop, rap, and hip-hop artists, Lights 2020 is also an opportunity to gather artists from other fields who have brought Vietnam closer to the world through international projects in 2019: Hoaprox – who put Vietnam's electronic dance music on Asia’s EDM Billboard chart; Artist and choreographer Do Hai Anh, creative director of Saigon Contemporary and Ballet Dance Company (SCBC Vietnam), award winners in international ballet & contemporary festivals; and LYRICÍST – Winner of the Asia wide Super24 dance competition, will also add to the wonderful array of performances on the night.

This year, the event celebrates the new decade with the presence of future Vietnamese talents. Trong Nhan, Thuy Binh, and Yen Khang from Dreams Gen are a generation of some of the country’s finest young talents with a passion for the arts, music, dancing, and acting – they also share a strong sense of community and in "giving back" through their passion.

Especially, after many years of working as an advocate of the arts, founding numerous organisations and connecting many Vietnamese families to creative education, Thanh Bui will introduce a new song on the night to mark the success of Vietnam’s development this past decade and to celebrate the achievements of this past year.

Lights 2020 promises to deliver a meaningful night of breathtaking music, dance, and the combination of modern technology and visual effects that have never been seen before on a Vietnamese stage. The show will feature special AR moments both for the audience on Nguyen Hue street, but also for viewers on HTV3-DreamsTV.
