PARIS: France's Sylvain Guintoli won the world Superbike title on Sunday (Nov 2) after a season-long battle with Britain's Tom Sykes which went down to the last round in Qatar.
The Aprilia rider edged out defending world champion Sykes, on a Kawasaki, by winning both of Sunday's races under the floodlights of the Losail circuit.
Guintoli ends the season with 416 points to Sykes' 410.
