There are many different requirements for students hoping to be accepted to an international institution abroad. We can imagine the student as a computer, with both hardware and software. The hardware is their educational background and the software is comprised of the various skills of the student. They computer’s operating system is English – meaning they must use English to run the computer, and how far they go in the future depends on how well they can communicate in that language.

How can GLN Study Abroad help students develop their abilities and overcome obstacles, in order to easily integrate with their new environment?

Vietnamese students tend to do very well abroad, but we know that to achieve that success, they had to overcome many difficulties to begin with. To prepare for a trip abroad, they should be armed with knowledge about the culture that they will be immersed in, including the student life of the school, local transportation, weather, and most importantly, the language. Our students study English rigorously before flying to their study abroad destination. They even book private English classes during the summer months and the New Year holidays. Through these measures, we help our student grow in terms of confidence, and set them up for future success. GLN always focus on developing skills to students by offering an international environment in English. We encourage them speaking English and open clubs with hot subjects so they themselves find the solutions for each problem in student life style. We order books from the United Kingdom and the United States, then give them free reading just to let them know at GLN books are precious as it bring us unlimited knowledge. All can be found at G-Book coffee, a beautiful place of GLN where students can relax while reading books, studying, or doing homework.

Does GLN have any specific study programmes for students, especially before they apply for school in the US?

Aside from our normal IELTS preparation course, we have tailor-made programmes for students. Speaking and writing will not be a problem for our students, if they join our courses at GLN. Ready-to-fly is a pre-departure workshop, in which GLN Study Abroad prepares our students for their life abroad. This programme has had numerous success stories. This year, we have a valedictorian, Tran Tuan Minh, from CATS Boston Academy in the US, who will study at Carleton College, a top five national liberal arts college. We are extremely proud of Tran Tuan Minh and all of our students studying abroad.
