Both the club and the ace striker have refused to reveal any details of their contract, such as the transfer fee, salary and bonus.

In October 2008, Vinh moved to Hanoi T&T for a transfer fee of VND7.5 billion ($360,600).

He scored 14 goals for the side in the first year before contracting a long-lasting knee injury in 2010. During the 2011 season, he recovered and contributed 10 goals to help the team win the runner-up position after Song Lam Nghe An.

Last month, Vinh and the Hanoi Football club chairman Nguyen Duc Kien shook hands on the deal and announced the decision to local media after their meeting at Park Hyatt Hotel in Ho Chi Minh City.

Vinh just told Tuoi Tre briefly, “I want a new environment.”

He also expressed his preference to work with coach Nguyen Thanh Vinh, with whom he had worked at Song Lam Nghe An FC from 1998-2008.

Hoa Phat Hanoi was renamed to Hanoi Football Club, with Kien as the chairman and Techcombank CEO Ho Hung Anh and Eximbank vice chairman Pham Trung Cang as two deputy chiefs of the club.
