Dung Quat is a multi-sector economic zone including industry, trade, services, urban centres, agriculture, and forestry. Oil refineries, chemicals, and heavy industry will still be the main focus of the zone.

On the same day, the Dung Quat Economic Zone Authority licenced three new projects with a total registered capital of VND1.7 trillion ($85 million).

Dung Quat has so far licenced 120 projects totaling VND150 trillion ($7.5 billion), 60 of which are already in operation, creating jobs for 12,000 labourers.
