Ba Ria-Vung Tau to propose $63.24 million for interchange project on Bien Hoa-Vung Tau Expressway

Ba Ria-Vung Tau province submitted a proposal to the prime minister on September 17 for a new interchange on the Bien Hoa-Vung Tau Expressway.

The interchange will cost an estimated $63.24 million, including compensation and site clearance costs of about $32.52 million. The central government will cover construction costs and half of the compensation and land clearance expenses (approximately $46.96 million) for the project, while Ba Ria-Vung Tau will cover the remaining 50 per cent of the compensation and land clearance costs (about $16.28 million).

If approved, the interchange will be implemented from 2025 to 2026.

Ba Ria-Vung Tau is planning to improve its connections with National Highway No.51, National Highway No.56, the Cai Mep-Thi Vai inter-port road, Phuoc An Bridge, Provincial Road No.765, Provincial Road No.328, Provincial Road No.329, and links to Binh Thuan province.

Once completed, the interchange is expected to significantly enhance the transportation of goods and passengers between the Cai Mep-Thi Vai port area, Phu My's industrial zones, Long Thanh International Airport outside Ho Chi Minh City, and Dong Nai-Binh Thuan province.

Ba Ria-Vung Tau People's Committee highlighted the significance of the interchange connecting the Bien Hoa-Vung Tau Expressway with DT.991 road in the Phu My urban area. The interchange is 7.7km from its junction with PDt.992 road and 6.6km from the Tan Hiep interchange, and it meets all national technical and design standards for expressways.
