Five more cases of COVID-19 were diagnosed in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City |
The 62th patient is an 18-year-old man in Hoan Kiem district, Hanoi. He is a student in the United Kingdom who returned to Vietnam yesterday (March 16), landing at Van Don International Airport. Quang Ninh Centre of Disease Control (CDC) tested all passengers and found him positive. He is now quarantined and undergoing treatment in Vietnam-Sweden Hospital (Uong Bi Hospital).
The 63th patient is a 20-year-old woman living in the C2 building of Mandarin Garden on Hoang Minh Giam Street, Cau Giay district, Hanoi. She is also a student in the UK who arrived at Noi Bai International Airport on March 15 on flight TG564. Hanoi CDC diagnosed her while testing the passengers on this flight. She is isolated and undergoing treatment in the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases in Dong Anh district.
Also in the evening, Pasteur Institute in Ho Chi Minh City reported three cases positive for the epidemic. The 64th is a 36-year-old woman in Ward 2, District 8, Ho Chi Minh City who also tested positive for hepatitis B. She travelled through Switzerland and Dubai with her boyfriend and returned to Tan Son Nhat International Airport on March 12 on flight EK392, while her boyfriend went on to Hong Kong, China. She has been isolated in Cu Chi field hospital.
The 65th patient is a 28-year-old woman in Ward 7, Go Vap district, Ho Chi Minh City. She works in Toto Vietnam at 1A Pham Ngoc Thach, Ben Nghe ward, District 1. She met patients 45 and 48 on March 7 and 10, and came down with the sickness on March 10. In the afternoon of March 11, Toto Vietnam has halted operation while the patient was taken to Cu Chi field hospital where a test confirmed COVID-19 infection.
The 66th patient is a 21-year-old woman living in the Park View building at 107 Nguyen Duc Canh, Phu My Hung, District 7. She left the US (Pennsylvania - Philadelphia) to Canada's Toronto on March 14, transited in Taiwan and arrived at Vietnam on March 16 on flight BR395 of Eva Air. She showed no symptoms of the disease but the test proved positive for COVID-19.
As of March 17, as many as 66 cases of infection have been detected, 16 of which were cured last month.
