Kokalari has worked in Vietnam for three years, most recently as the CIO and Head of Research at a local, $125 million AUM fund manager.
Prior to that he was a senior advisor to VietFund Management (VFM), a $200m AUM fund manager in Ho Chi Minh City. He also taught in the Mathematics Department of Vietnam’s National University.
Before coming to Vietnam Kokalari was an investment banker for 15 years, managing multi-billion dollar derivatives portfolio at First Boston, JP Morgan Chase, Lehman Brothers, Paribas and WestLB, in London and Tokyo.
Kokalari the co-author of the CFA Institute’s Guide to Credit Risk and a contributor to the 2010 book, “Risk Management, Foundations for a Changing World”. Other contributors to that book include Nobel Prize winners Robert Merton of Harvard and William Sharpe of Stanford, as well as Professor Andrew Lo of Massachuset Institute of Technology.
