Contrary to Vietnam, many Asian stock markets experienced gloomy sessions in early this week

Ending the session on April 13, VN-Index rose 8 points or a single per cent to 766 points. HNX-Index added 1 per cent to 107 points and UPCoM-Index also slightly increased by 0.5 per cent.

In Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange (HSX), 230 out of 349 codes recorded increasing points. In VN30 basket, 21 codes ended up with green colour and only 5 tickers saw downgraded points.

As soon as OPEC and the allies approved cutting the output, oil and gas stocks have experienced brighter outlook. PV Power (HSX: POW) and PV Gas (HSX: GAS) added 3 per cent and 1 per cent, respectively.

Bank stocks also experienced a positive session on the same day. VPBank (HSX: VPB) skyrocketed because of the information that its CEO’s son registered to buy 12 million VPB shares. The other codes like Vietcombank (VCB), Vietinbank (CTG), BIDV (BID), MBBank (MBB) leveraged 1 per cent, Techcombank (TCB) increased 3 per cent.

Aviation stocks were thrived on the day after submerging in the prolonged nosedive. Vietnam Airline (HVN) reached its amplitude and Vietjet (VJC) also grew 6 per cent. ACV and Taseco (AST) also recovered and closed the session with green colour.

On the other hand, bluechip codes like Masan (MSN), Vinamilk (VNM), and Petrolimex (PLX) suffered a negative impact. MSN declined 4 per cent while VNM and PLX downturned 1 per cent.

The liquidity of the whole market hit the value of more than VND3.06 trillion ($133 million). Total selling value of the overseas investors over three exchanges across on the day was more than VND270 billion ($11.74 million).

Contrary to Vietnam, many Asian countries experienced gloomy sessions in early this week. Specifically, Nikkei 225 (Japan) lost 2.3 per cent, Kospi (South Korea) declined 1.9 per cent, Shanghai Composite and Shenzhen Component (China) dropped 0.5 per cent and 0.7 per cent, respectively.
