Japanese fashion brand UNIQLO plans to open its first store in in the central city of Hue next year, marking its first expansion into the central region.

With this new outlet, UNIQLO will have established its retail chain across the north, central, and south regions of Vietnam. The new store will be located in AEON MALL Hue, the largest general-service shopping mall in the central region.

The UNIQLO store at AEON MALL Hue will boast a sales floor area of approximately 1,000 square metres, offering a full range of LifeWear product lines. The outlet is expected to bring a convenient shopping experience to customers in the central region, while contributing to cultural and economic development and generating jobs for the locals.

Nishida Hideki, general director of UNIQLO Vietnam, said, "The last five years in Vietnam has been a meaningful journey for us. UNIQLO is proud to receive love from customers in Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Haiphong, and Binh Duong. In the central region, we hope to receive a similar welcome from customers. The opening of a new store marks an important milestone for our company."

The central province of Thua Thien-Hue boasts great development potential as the third-largest economic region in Vietnam with a population of over 650,000 people. It attracts domestic and foreign tourists thanks to its policy of preserving the cultural values, heritage, and identity of the ancient capital. With an increasing presence of domestic and international investors, Thua Thien-Hue has been in the process of continuous development, aiming to become a centrally governed city in 2025.
