One of the world’s leading suppliers of environmentally friendly technologies, Siemens, is powering ahead in Vietnam.

The German-backed group said it would provide Vietnam-based building operators with its latest products, systems and solutions for buildings such as energy sustainability in buildings, energy efficient product solutions, effective lighting solutions, intelligent power distribution, security solutions, and intelligent fire detection and extinguishing solutions. These products can help buildings save 20-50 per cent of energy used.

“We are with Vietnam in their way to become a modernised and industrialised country by 2020. My personal wish is also to see Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City develop vigorously like Shanghai in China in the future,” said Siemens Vietnam Company’s president and CEO Erdal Elver.

“To date, Siemens is an integral part of Vietnam’s economy and is committed to further contribute to the country’s socio-economic development,” he said.

He said that energy efficient, economic and sustainable concepts were what Siemens was adding to its portfolio, which contains solutions and products for every aspect of building infrastructure.

“We are with our customers all the way – from the initial idea to the finished products – helping them to sustainably increase productivity while modernising efficiency,” Elver said.

According to experts, Vietnam is developing speedily, especially in big cities like Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. This has resulted in increasing demand for energy and infrastructure. Nearly all buildings in Vietnam are using energy inefficiently.

In Vietnam, Siemens has participated in many important constructions and infrastructure projects such as the National Stadium Complex, National Convention Centre, PetroVietnam headquarter office, Vincom building, the main office of the Ministry of Public Security, Bitexco Financial Tower in Ho Chi Minh City, and most recently, Can Tho International Airport in Can Tho city and Vinpearl Danang Luxury Resort and Residences in Danang.

Since 2006, Siemens has modernised 6,500 buildings worldwide, thereby realising guaranteed savings of over 1 billion euros and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by about 2.4 million tonnes.
