Saint-Gobain Vietnam's North Office, located at 29 Lieu Giai, Ngoc Khanh, Ba Dinh, Hanoi, has been officially awarded LOTUS Gold by the Vietnam Green Building Council (VGBC) – a member of the World Green Building Council (WorldGBC).
Located on the 17th floor of Capital Place Building, the North office of Saint-Gobain Vietnam has been designed to optimise the light and green solutions from the world-leading construction material provider. Combining the building's modern facilities, Saint-Gobain Vietnam has created a 3C-1E concept working space: Comfort – Concentration – Collaboration - Environment.
The entire area of 674 square metres is logically divided into meeting rooms, living spaces, and working areas, answering the criteria of energy and water efficiency, health and well-being improvement, comfort for office occupants, as well as other factors according to VGBC's LOTUS green building certification system and WorldGBC's Health and Facilities Assessment Framework.
Sufficient daylight for more than 70 per cent of the office area, together with high views to the outdoors from the 17th floor, has delivered an open working and living space, improving connectivity, reducing stress, and increasing working performance.
Moreover, lighting sensors with suitable illuminating power for effective energy control are installed in all meeting rooms, resulting in a lighting power densityreduction of 46.5 per cent over QCVN 09: 2013 requirements. Together with the insulation glass system and central air-conditioning control system with a variety of air-speed, they make for fair energy usage and room temperature solution.
Intending to optimise resources and ensure the health and comfort of office workers, Saint-Gobain Vietnam has implemented many other solutions besides lighting and temperature solutions.
- They use effective sound-absorbing materials such as Ecophon (NRC=1), Rigitone (NRC=0.65), TongA A22 (NRC=1) for the ceiling. DW4 drywall partitions are used for soundproofing up to 50dB, fireproofing up to 60 minutes. The solution brings acoustic comfort to the workspace while securing aesthetic elements.
- All Saint-Gobain Vietnam's materials are low in volatile organic compounds. Indoor plant systems and CO2 monitors are installed in all the meeting rooms, the working space, and the pantry.
- The company also uses water-efficient fixtures to reach more than 40 per cent of water savings as a result.
- The company has established an environment-friendly system to manage, dispose of solid waste, encourage staff to use public transportation, and reduce plastic waste.
Dang Minh Phuong, managing director of North Saint-Gobain Vietnam said, "We are proud when Saint-Gobain Vietnam's office certified LOTUS Gold following the LOTUS green construction certificated system from VGBC. From the first stage of designing the office, we targeted to effectively use the building material solutions of our group to create a comfortable working space and increase the staff's performance by 15 per cent. This achievement is the most persuasive proof of the products’ quality and the commitment of architects, builders, and investors to build modern, environmentally-friendly buildings and deliver comfort to users, with the aim of "Making the world a better home."
