Prudential pledge supports to local community

Prudential Vietnam, the leading life insurer in Vietnam has pledged $10 million in support of its Prudence Foundation Vietnam, which will support community activities and social initiatives across the country.

The financial support will enable Prudential’s own Prudence Foundation Vietnam to support the long-term development of the Vietnam’s society and to support meaningful community development initiatives and charitable projects across the country. The projects will initially focus on youth education and promoting a healthy lifestyle.

The foundation is an important part of Prudential’s commitment to corporate responsibility and to the Vietnamese market.

Founded in 1999, Prudential Vietnam is one of the country’s largest and longest serving life insurers with operations spanning the entire country.

At the announcement ceremony, Barry Stowe, chief executive, Prudential Corporation Asia said that helping individuals and supporting communities was core to Prudential’s business.

“We provide support not only through the products and services we offer customers, but equally important, through our community engagement and the corporate responsibility work we undertake in all our markets in Asia,” said Stowe.

The Prudence Foundation Vietnam was initially established in 2003 by Prudential.  Over the last eight years, it has supported a wide range of charitable initiatives in Vietnam including major programmes supporting English education, youth athletics and IT scholarship.

Jack Howell, Prudential Vietnam’s chief executive officer said that Prudential would enhance supports to local communities across Vietnam for continued growth and development of the Vietnamese society.
