The list of projects calling for foreign investment in the 2021-2025 period has been officially issued |
The list currently includes 157 projects with the total investment capital of $71.46 billion, covering transport infrastructure, industrial zone (IZ), energy, IT, education and medical, waste treatment system, agriculture, forestry and fishery production, and services.
There are 34 transport infrastructure projects, including the $4.57 billion Metro Line 4 in Ho Chi Minh City, $3.5 billion Hon Khoai-Ca Mau Seaport which is offered either as a joint venture or 100 per cent foreign investment. Trang Bom-Hoa Hung Railway and Tran De Seaport are also on the list.
Energy infrastructure projects include a petrochemical complex and a plastic materials production facility in Nghi Son Economic Zone with the expected capital of $4-6 billion, along with a $4 billion liquefied natural gas power plant and the $3 billion Long An Thermal Power Plant, among others.
Regarding IZ infrastructure, projects include Ninh Co Economic Zone and Hoa Ninh IZ, among others.
Meanwhile, education and medical projects are a 1,000-bed general hospital under Hanoi National University in Hoa Lac, International University - Hanoi National University, and the project to upgrade Tuyen Quang General Hospital.
According to the decision, the Ministry of Planning and Investment (MPI) will be in charge of guiding and monitoring the implementation of the decision. Besides, the MPI was assigned to collect information and report to the prime minister about investment promotion at the listed projects. The ministry will also review the list and capital of projects and adjust them if necessary.
The MPI is co-operating with other ministries and localities to build specific dossiers for each project to create the most favourable conditions for investment promotion and facilitate investment decisions.
