The new refrigerator comes equipped with breakthrough features such as the blast chiller, which earned the refrigerator the CES 2012 Best of Innovations award. Also, expansive shelf space and powerful air control keeps food fresh and healthy.
A long-time leader in french-door refrigeration, LG has also added greater eco-friendly performance; it meets the US Department of Energy’s ENERGY STAR® standards by using 20 per cent less energy than the federal government energy consumption standards.
The new french-door refrigerator is an upgraded version of its 31 cubic feet predecessor launched in 2011. Equipped with new cutting-edge features, the new french-door enhances the quality of food storage while also providing greater convenience to customers.
“We are delighted but certainly not surprised that our french-door refrigerator has received such acclaim,” said executive vice president and CEO of LG Electronics Home Appliance Company Moon-bum Shin.
“It has an ultra-large capacity and a raft of great features. We’re equally proud that we’ve been able to offer outstanding features – fresher food storage, better access, a beautiful design – while at the same time reducing energy consumption,” he added.
With 31 cubic feet, there is enough room in the new refrigerator to put more than 50 gallons of milk in the fresh food compartment alone. LG’s new french-door model also offers expansive shelf space.
With insulation panels 23 per cent thinner than those used in previous LG models, the new french-door refrigerator boasts the slimmest and the most effective insulation yet for an LG refrigerator, providing customers with greater capacity without sacrificing energy efficiency.
LG’s smart cooling plus system keeps food fresh and reduces food waste. The system works by combining the powerful LG linear compressor with the dual evaporator and digital sensors to help maintain optimal humidity and temperature. These two systems work in tandem with LG’s unique multi-air flow, a set of strategically placed vents that surround food with cool, fresh air and the fresh air filter, which features a dedicated fan that continuously circulates the filtered air throughout the refrigerator and helps effectively deodorise the air inside it. LG backs up the linear compressor with a 10-year warranty.
The crowd-pleasing blast chiller takes various beverages at room temperature and cools them in a very short amount of time – just within five minutes for a 12 ounce can of soft drink or beer. It was this innovative technology which earned the refrigerator the CES 2012 Best of Innovations award.
The refrigerator’s versatile four compartment crisper system provides easy access and more ways to organize fruits, vegetables and beverages in one of two humidity-controlled crisper drawers. A full-width, fully extending Glide-N-Serve™ drawer and a bonus drawer make party preparations easy.
Going beyond convenience for everyday use, the refrigerator also utilises Smart Diagnosis™, a convenient technology for self diagnosis that helps customer service representatives quickly and efficiently troubleshoot mechanical issues over the phone, limiting costly, inconvenient service calls and in-home visits.
LG’s french-door refrigerator incorporates a number of sophisticated, stylish design features. The hinges have been tastefully hidden and contoured doors have been added, ensuring a sleek and modern feel inside and out.
Also showcased at CES are LG’s premium door-in-door and 4-door refrigerators. The door-in-door french-door refrigerator provides customers with the same large-capacity of 31 cubic feet, but comes equipped with the door-in-door feature to deliver enhanced convenience when reaching for often sought-after food items.
