Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange’s (HoSE) VN-Index significantly lost 3.4 points or 0.87 per cent to 385.22 points, while Hanoi Stock Exchange’s (HNX) HNX-Index slightly shed 0.13 points or 0.25 per cent to 52.39 points.
Decliners amounted to 124 stocks on the HoSE, compared with 84 advancers and 101 stocks unchanged. Decliners also outran advancers 107 to 82 on HNX.
Speculative stocks significantly lost. Mineral tickers Bac Giang Exploitable Mineral (BGM), Tay Bac Minerals Investment (KTB), Nari Hamico Minerals (KSS), Lao Cai Mineral Exploitation & Processing (LCM) lost 2-3 per cent each. Binh Dinh Minerals (BMC) dropped 4.05 per cent. Duong Hieu Trading and Mining (DHM) still rose 3.35 per cent.
Real estate tickers Hoang Anh Gia Lai (HAG), Ocean Group (OG), International Development and Investment Corp (IDI), Development Investment Construction (DIG) modestly fell. Ho Chi Minh City Infrastructure Investment (CII) stayed unchanged while Hoa Binh Construction & Real Estate Corp. (HBC) and Fecon Foundation Engineering and Underground Construction (FCN) still strongly gaining.
Large-cap stocks largely ended lower today, with banking stocks Vietcombank (VCB), Sacombank (STB) and Eximbank (EIB) modestly losing, Vietinbank (CTG) and Military Bank (MBB) dropping.
Blue-chips Vinamilk (VNM), Masan Group (MSN), PetroVietnam Drilling and Well Services (PVD), PetroVietnam Fertilisers (DPM), Hoa Phat Group (HPG) and Vincom Group (VIC) all ended lower.
On HNX, Saigon-Hanoi Bank (SHB) continued rallying as the stock advanced 1.92 per cent and outperformed with 8.1 million shares matched. Saigon Commercial Real Estate (SCR) followed with 7.3 million shares matched and the ticket hit the ceiling.
High-liquid real estate tickets Vietnam Construction and Import-Export (VCG), FLC Group (FLC) and Song Hong Construction (ICG) kept rallying on the northern bourse. Meanwhile Song Da Infrastructure Construction (SDH), PetroVietnam Construction (PVX) and Vietnam Industrial & Commercial Securities Corp. (VIG) slumped. Other top active stocks largely eased back.
Liquidity slightly reduced against previous session. HoSE’s liquidity remained weak at 28.5 million shares worth VND322 billion ($15.5 million). HNX’s liquidity reached 36.7 million shares worth VND214.6 billion ($10.4 million).
