>> Pinnacle Entertainment invests $95 million in ACDL
“We have not yet selected the exact date for MGM Grand Ho Tram’s grand opening but it will be an auspicious date and is likely to be in early February,” said Lloyd C. Nathan, chief executive officer of developer Canada-based Asian Coast Development Limited (ACDL).
ACDL received investment certificate for this Ho Tram Strip project in 2008, with total registered investment capital at $4.2 billion. The construction of the first resort MGM Grand Ho Tram started in 2010 which includes two hotels, a 13,600 square metre gaming entertainment area, world-class conference facilities, a variety of recreational activities and beach facilities.
The investor has completed the frame construction of first 541-room hotel, electronic gambling facility and a pool. “A second 549 room tower will later be added to the MGM Grand Ho Tram, which will take it up to 1,100 rooms,” said Nathan.
Nathan said ACDL would pump about $450 million into this first resort and it would also offer 90 live game tables and 500 electronic gaming machines. Once the first resort was opened, ACDL expected to attract people from a broad range of countries, he said.
“We have a compelling offering in a spectacular location. The Ho Tram Strip will be a place to bring the family and enjoy the many and varied amenities we have to offer. These include state of the art MICE facilities which will further strengthen Vietnam and Ho Tram’s global position as a key destination,” Nathan added.
Located in Ba Ria-Vung Tau province, Ho Tram Strip is 127 kilometres from Ho Chi Minh City and Nathan said the construction of Highway 51 linking Ho Chi Minh City and Ba Ria-Vung Tau and a Long Thanh international airport in Dong Nai province would benefit the project.
