Hana Financial acquires stake in BIDV Securities

In the deal worth around $113.8 million, Hana Financial has expanded its stake in the Southeast Asian financial industry, Yonhap reported.
BSC was the 11th largest stock brokerage in Vietnam in 2021.
As a result of the share acquisition, Hana Financial intends to revitalise the brokerage’s digital platform and expand into other areas, including asset management.
A representative from Hana Financial stated, “BIDV Securities is hoping to become a major, digitally-driven securities business by 2026.”
In 2019, KEB Hana Bank deepened its footprint in Vietnam’s financial landscape by buying a 15 per cent stake in BIDV – one of the four largest commercial banks in the nation.
