GREENFEED's clear vision for sustainable development has once again earned it the prestigious CSI2024 accolade. |
GREENFEED was honoured as one of the Top 100 Sustainable Companies for the third consecutive year. This is also the second year it has been recognised among the Top 10 Sustainable Companies in the manufacturing sector.
The company has implemented a range of innovative solutions, including rooftop solar energy systems, organic fertiliser production, wastewater treatment and reuse for crop irrigation, biogas recovery for electricity generation, and partnerships to promote sustainable livestock farming models. These initiatives are bolstered by digital transformation and technological advancements across its 3F Plus integrated food chain, ensuring consistent progress towards its sustainability goals.
One standout initiative is the company’s effort to reduce plastic packaging in production and transportation. At its feed mills, GREENFEED has optimised bulk feed storage and delivery using silo systems, significantly cutting back on non-biodegradable plastics. By the end of 2023, bulk feed accounted for over 18 per cent of total sales, and over three years, this initiative has eliminated an estimated 1,091 tonnes of plastic waste.
The company is also enhancing energy efficiency through biomass fuel conversion for boilers, motor inverter installations, reactive power compensation, and waste heat recovery systems. As of 2023, renewable energy comprises 14.7 per cent of the company’s total energy usage. With additional projects underway, including installations with a projected capacity of 7.5 MW, renewable energy is expected to contribute 15-20 per cent more, supporting the company's goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2050.
Recognising the critical role of technology, the company has invested heavily in building modern, sustainable livestock farms equipped with standardised waste management systems. These farms convert livestock waste into organic fertiliser and biogas, minimising environmental impact.
