Flood riddled Nghe An Province hit by earthquake

An earthquake measuring 3.7 on the Richter Scale shook the area of Cong Thanh Commune, Yen Thanh District in Nghe An Province early this morning.

According to Le Huy Minh, director of the Vietnam Earthquake and Tsunami Warning Centre, the earthquake took place at 3:21am at the 21.833 degrees North latitude and 106. 157 degrees East longitude.

No damage has yet been reported. An expert at the centre said that the earthquake occurred when most people were still sleeping so many may not have noticed. The expert also said that they were still closely monitoring this earthquake.

The central province of Nghe An is one of the areas greatly affected by the deadly flood. However, experts said that there is no connection between the flood and this earthquake.
