First International Ginseng, Aromatic and Medicinal Herbs Festival takes place

People in Ho Chi Minh City had the opportunity to try and buy precious ginseng at the first Ho Chi Minh City International Ginseng, Aromatic and Medicinal Herbs Festival on May 24 to 26.

Participants of 15 countries and 20 provinces and cities of Vietnam attended at the festival, which included trade and tourism promotion activities and thematic seminars, creating opportunities for Ho Chi Minh City, localities, and domestic and international businesses to exchange, share experiences, and find partners.

At the same time, it enhanced the value and image of Vietnamese ginseng, especially renowned Ngoc Linh ginseng, to the world.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Vo Van Hoan, Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee, said that the festival was an opportunity for localities and businesses to exchange ideas and promote ginseng, aromatic products, and medicinal herbs, contributing to boosting trade, investment, and tourism.

At the Ginseng Festival, visitors could hold ginseng roots that were 7 to 10 years old

The most prominent highlight of the festival was the "Ginseng Forest" arranged by VinGin JSC. 400 valuable ginseng plants from 2–15 years old were transported to Ho Chi Minh City for display in a 200 sq.m space.

Visitors experience the ginseng forest recreated by the company to be 99 per cent similar to the real Ngoc Linh ginseng forest at an altitude of 1,200 metres
