Marketing and advertising giant Dentsu has established a new media agency.

Dentsu Media Vietnam Company will begin operations in January, 2012 with investing capital of $1.1 million. Some 90 per cent belongs to Dentsu and 10 per cent to Neko, an advertising agency in Vietnam.

Before this launching, Dentsu had two other full-service advertising agencies Dentsu Vietnam and Dentsu Alpha Limited. From now on, these three Dentsu affiliates in Vietnam will work collaboratively to enhance full-service capabilities, provide a higher level of integrated solutions to clients and contribute to the further growth and expansion of the Dentsu Group in Vietnam.

“The needs from our clients have been arising and we need to set up our media agency networks in Asian countries,” a Dentsu representative said.

According to the October 2011 edition of Advertising Expenditure Forecasts published by ZenithOptimedia, the size of Vietnam’s advertising market in 2010 was $557 million, an increase of 6.8 per cent from the 2009 figure. The market is further expected to grow 9.4 per cent to $609 million in 2011, 9.8 per cent to $668 million in 2012, and 10.3 per cent to $737 million in 2013.
Dentsu, with this agency, has established a network of media agencies, known as the Dentsu Media network, in Taiwan, Thailand, China, Indonesia, Singapore, India, Korea, Hong Kong and Vietnam.
