Dai-ichi Life Vietnam’s captain honoured

Takashi Fujii, Dai-ichi Life Vietnam’s chairman cum CEO has been awarded “Vietnam Outstanding Entrepreneur of 2010” – Thanh Giong Cup.

The award was designed to recognise the business community’s achievement and contribution to the country by Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI).

Fujii became the CEO of Dai-ichi Life Vietnam in 2007 following the Japanese insurance giant’s acquisition over existing life insurance joint-venture Bao Minh – CMG.

Over the past three years, Dai-ichi Life Vietnam has been maintaining 28 per cent annual growth in new business. 2009 also marked the second year in a row with Dai-ichi Life Vietnam running at profit.

Fujii said that the award was a concrete recognition for the efforts that Dai-ichi Life Vietnam’s employees had made over the past years.

“We would continue working on product design and service quality improvement to better serve Vietnamese customers,” said Fujii.

Over the first nine months of 2010, Dai-ichi Life Vietnam reaped VND230 billion ($11.5 million) premiums from new business, 51 per cent up against 2009.
