Citibank Vietnam has debuted the Citibank Visa Debit Card together with a promotion programme.

The card is a partnership between Citibank Vietnam and Visa International, with two card types made available are Citibank Visa Platinum and Visa Gold. The cardholders can withdraw cash from ATMs as well as make payments just like credit cards, easily managing and controlling their spending.

Moreover, the cardholders have an instant cash access at 30,000 Citibank ATMs and 1.7 million Visa Plus ATMs over the world. They are also accepted globally at over 29 million merchants.

The Citibank Visa Platinum debit card provides comprehensive travel insurance benefits, such as travel inconvenience protection, travel accident protection, and accidental medical expense protection.

As for the new launches, Citibank Vietnam kicked-off its promotion campaign entitled “Hong Kong – A journey of experience”. Accordingly, a card member who spends over VND 250 million ($12,000 plus) with the debit card from February 1 to April 30, 2013 will receive a return air ticket to Hong Kong.

In addition, the top 30 spenders with the average balance of VND 1 billion ($48,000 plus) in these 3 months will get 2 entrance tickets to Disneyland Hong Kong and 1 night at luxury hotel in Disneyland Hong Kong hotel.

“Since 2005, Visa debit cards have evolved to become a popular payment tool for Vietnamese consumers because the cards offer greater security and convenience. Visa debit cards are safer than cash and allow you to pay for your goods and services every day, whether at the supermarkets, department stores or restaurants,” said Lorijon Bacchi, country manager of Visa in Vietnam.

Brett Krause, Citi Vietnam country officer, said: “The launching of Citibank Visa Debit card tonight truly marks a new milestone in the business partnership between Visa and Citi. We have a long history of cooperation and development based on mutual benefits and understanding. I believe that our business ties will be deepened, bringing more benefits to our customers in Vietnam.”
