The date September 27 marks a new milestone for the growth and maturity of all generations of Vietnam Investment Review’s staff after 15 years of development.

Looking back on the end of autumn 1991, when Viet Nam Dau Tu Nuoc Ngoai newspaper in Vietnamese (now Dau Tu) and VIR in English were launched, it marked a new entry in the national press community and contributed to the diversification and renovation of Vietnam’s revolutionary press in the early years of the country’s renovation process.
Over the past 15 years, while closely embracing its guidelines and goals, responding to the renovation process and being always loyal to the policy of economic development and integration initiated by the Party and State, VIR has developed quickly. It has reached a new levels of performance and is a useful information channel for both domestic and foreign investors as well as state managers. We have also actively encouraged the proper enrichment of the people and have struggled against things that harm the business environment.
VIR has as well become an economic forum for all social classes, particularly investors and enterprises.
We are well aware that the renovation and integration process of the country both made VIR and lends it its vitality. This foundation has nourished VIR as a general economic paper welcomed by the majority of readers.
On the occasion of our anniversary, we are very pleased to receive propitious sharing and appropriate, helpful and profound encouragements and assessments of Dau Tu, Dau Tu Chung Khoan, Vietnam Investment Review and Timeout. We welcome these objective assessments of VIR’s contributions to the socio-economic development of the country, efforts to provide updated, accurate, and multi-sided information to readers, and expectations and requirements for the development of the newspaper in the future.
Those opinions, including compliments and criticisms, as well as suggestions for the growth of the paper, represent the sincere thoughts of readers everywhere.
They represent valuable and much appreciated sentiments and have provided substantial encouragement for VIR’s reporters, editors and officers during the past 15 years. They are also the most noble ‘medal’, awarded by readers to VIR in its 15 years of development. They are the driving-force behind the development of business and investor communities, and for the prosperity of the national economy in the context of the country’s more intensive and extensive integration into the world economy.
On this occasion we would like to convey out deep gratitude to the seniors, who have assisted, edified and encouraged us since our establishment, to the leaders of the former State Committee for Cooperation and Investment, and to the current Ministry of Planning and Investment for their guidelines and orientation. We would like to thank as well State management agencies, unions, international organisations, investors and enterprises for their valuable input.
But the most thanks go to our readers. Without readers’ sharing and faithfulness, VIR’s popularity would not have been as large as it is. On this occasion, we would like to wish all readers good health, happiness and success.
At VIR we know that our existence and development are closely attached to the epochal changes in the country’s economy, and we are a barometer for, and serve, the renovation and integration courses initiated by the Communist Party of Vietnam.
Therefore, in celebrating the 15th anniversary of our founding, all officers, reporters, editors and staff of VIR vow to be a general economic information channel for the nation, a loyal friend to business and the investor community and a forum on economic issues for all social classes.
