The programme aims to nurture children's artistic potential through music and performing arts |
The creative summer programme held by SOUL Music & Performing Arts Academy (SMPAA) is an opportunity to rekindle the artistic potential of each student, from young people who have never studied music to those who have tried singing, dancing or playing instruments.
In the three weeks of summer camp, children will learn hip-hop, modern jazz, dance fitness, as well as music and instruments like drums, guitar, and piano. They also get a chance to perform their music in a well-equipped recording studio to discover their passion and talent.
Students get to experience Orff instruments which are very unique. With over 8 different musical instruments, the Orff package offers students a rich experience on a variety of patterns and materials, from the sound of wood to metal and how this sounds on instruments of different sizes.
Local and international artists will also take the lead and teach during the programme, such as Rachel Sterrenberg and Alize Rozsnyai from The Curtis Institute of Music. Vietnamese singers Tien Tien and Vu Cat Tuong will share their journey of discovering creativity and pursuing their passion.
In addition to the lessons which are taught in both English and Vietnamese, students will visit creative locations in Ho Chi Minh City like Saigon Opera House and Cho Lon Theater. During the final week, learners will join special guests to present and celebrate their skills on stage at SMPAA.
