Speaking at the event, Vietjet chairwoman Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao said, “Vietjet aircraft bearing the symbolic image of 50 years of Vietnam – France diplomatic relations marks a milestone in the development of economic, cultural, and trade cooperation. We are pleased that the cooperation between Vietjet and our French partners has achieved good results and become a solid basis for the Vietnam – France strategic partnership. Today's event is even more meaningful, as it marks the success of the 19th Francophonie Summit, with the participation of leaders of nearly 100 member countries.”

The newly delivered A321neo aircraft is the 80th of its type manufactured and delivered as part of Vietjet's order for more than 206 aircraft from the world's leading manufacturer, Airbus.

Vietjet's A321neo features a modern, airy design, soft leather seats, high-quality carpeting, and the latest generation of engines, which can reduce fuel consumption by 20 per cent and noise by half compared to previous generation single-aisle aircraft. It will join Vietjet's fleet of over 100 of the world's most modern aircraft, operating on routes throughout Vietnam and internationally to destinations in India, China, Japan, South Korea, Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Laos, Cambodia, and more, meeting the travel demands of both locals and tourists.

This new aircraft has created jobs in France, and together with Vietjet, offers opportunities to hundreds of millions of people and tourists, promoting aviation development, trade, and cultural exchange. During the pandemic, Vietjet's fleet donated millions of medical masks to the people of France, Germany, and the United Kingdom, transporting medical equipment, goods, and food.

Vietjet's cooperation with its French partners and Airbus Group has contributed to dynamic trade between Vietnam and France in particular and the European Union in general. More importantly, Vietjet's projects in cooperation with Airbus have contributed to the formation of an aviation training and technical service centre in Vietnam, providing large-scale aircraft technical services, ready for the production of aviation components and supporting technologies in Vietnam.

Benoit De Saint-Exupery, Airbus executive vice president of sales, said, “Today's event marks another milestone in Airbus' long-standing partnership with Vietjet and Vietnam's industry aviation. The delivery of another A321neo is a key step in Vietjet’s ambitious fleet expansion, alongside its recent firm order for 20 A330neo at the Farnborough Airshow. We are proud and look forward to continued collaboration and success with Vietjet in many years to come.”

In 2018, Vietjet also received an A321 aircraft bearing the symbol of the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and France under the witness of late General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong during an official working visit to France by a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation.

Airbus will continue to deliver more new aircraft from now until the end of 2024 to Vietjet, demonstrating the airline’s commitment to meet all passenger demands, expand the flight network, develop sustainably, and promote cultural, economic, and tourism exchanges.
