KinderWorld heads to Hanoi

The strategic partnership will bring a range of benefits

The news came from KinderWorld chairman Ricky Tan at the signing ceremony between KinderWorld and the Training and Further Education South Australia (TAFE SA) on November 18 in Ho Chi Minh City.

The international education group and the Australian commission marked the strategic partnership by an auspice agreement signed between Tan and Stephen Conway, managing director of TAFE SA and witnessed by Jack Snelling, Minister for Employment, Training and Further Education of South Australia. According to the agreement, Pegasus International UniCollege will work closely with Regency International Centre of Hospitality, Tourism and Food Studies, which belongs to TAFE SA, for the delivery of training courses in the area of hospitality, tourism and commercial cookery.

An interim college which has been invested approximately $1 million will be opened for enrollment in Hanoi followed by state-of-the-art permanent campuses to be built in Danang, Ho Chi Minh City and Nha Trang in the next two years with a total capacity of 1,500 full time students. The total investment of the entire project is estimated to cost $21 million. 

Besides the above mentioned programmes, the college will be offering training in the areas of business and commerce, information and communication technology, foreign languages and teacher training. Qualified graduates will be accredited by TAFE SA under the Australian Qualifications Training Framework (AQTF) or International Vocational Qualifications from the UK and the Europass Certificate Supplement through the school’s partnership schemes.

Additionally, Pegasus also offers recognition of prior learning (RPL) programmes for skills upgrading and pathway assessment for in-service workers and professionals in hospitality, tourism and commercial cookery. This provides an opportunity for employers to up-skill their existing workforce to meet changing industry and workplace demands.

“Pagasus’ training programmes with a balance between education and current industry relevance could help to cater for the growing demand of the industry whether in the country or in the region,” said Tan.

KinderWorld Education Group currently operates KinderWorld International Kindergartens and Singapore International School in major cities of Vietnam including Binh Duong, Danang, Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Vung Tau and Hue City. Up to now, the group has built 15 campuses throughout the country with an estimated investment of $12 million.
