In early July, General Motors Vietnam (GM Vietnam) introduced the 2014 Chevrolet Captiva SUV with support from Chevrolet network of General Motors.

The 2014 Captiva offers new technologies, safety features, and elegant exterior and interior design elements.

It is targeted at male customers between 30 and 50 years of age.

The 2014 Captiva retains superior exterior features from the previous generation such as a chromed dual-port grille and aluminum alloy side steps.

Its chromed rear bumper gives the SUV a masculine appearance, while its trendy two-colour front bumper enhances its elegance.

Other eye-catching details include heated, power-adjustable, power-folding, body-colour mirrors with turn signals, 19-inch alloy wheels, and dual trapezium chromed exhausts that intensify the SUV’s sporty look.

Stylish LED rear lamps give the car a luxurious touch.

The 2014 Captiva also preserves the elegant and modern interior from the previous generation, with dual-zone automatic air conditioning.

Moreover, users can control the audio system and answer phone calls using steering wheel controls, enjoy the convenience of the Captiva’s information display screen, and connect with and play their favorite music from their smartphones via Bluetooth.

The 2014 Captiva has a spacious interior for up to seven adults. The back seats can be folded down to create more luggage space for family travel.

In respect to technology and amenities, the 2014 Captiva is a segment leader. It supports USB and AUX connection, making it easier for users to share their data with other external devices.

Other popular technologies and amenities featured in the 2014 generation include the smart engine switch system, an eight-second auto lock, a four-direction adjustable steering wheel, premium leather seats, an eight-direction powered adjustable seat for the driver and an electric sunroof that controls air flow inside the vehicle.

To ensure safety, the 2014 Captiva includes all of the features of the previous model.

They include hill descent control (HDC), the anti-lock brake system with electronic brake force distribution, the traction control system, the electronic stability programme and an auto-leveling suspension that improves the vehicle’s balance when driving on rough surfaces.

Two airbags and four-way adjustable headrests that effectively prevent neck injuries during a crash are also included. Other advanced safety features include headlamps that automatically turn on when driving in the dark, rain sensors that automatically activate the wipers and rear parking sensors.

The 2014 model has added the collision warning – front, which helps the driver avoid potential obstacles when backing up, and the tire-pressure monitoring system, which alerts the driver when at least one tire is underinflated.

The 2014 Captiva is powered by a 2.4-litre DOHC Ecotec LE9 gasoline engine with direct injection that generates 165hp and its efficient six-speed automatic transmission with Steptronic technology and the driver-selectable Eco mode helps save fuel.

Founded in 1911 in Detroit, Chevrolet is now one of the world's largest car brands, doing business in more than 140 countries and selling more than 4.9 million cars and trucks a year.

General Motors Vietnam, with a headquarters and a manufacturing facility in Hanoi’s Thanh Tri district, reports an annual assembly capacity of 30,000 vehicles and operates a nationwide sales network of 17 dealer facilities in major cities.
