Event experts to discuss Vietnam, world economic prospects

Executives from leading financial institutions are preparing to voice their input at an upcoming conference to be held by VPBank on reviewing the global, regional and local economy in 2014 and giving projections about 2015.

The conference, to take place on November 4, will bring together keynote speakers such as Pamela Kustas, Equity Market specialist of Bloomberg LP, Barry Weisblatt, managing director of Research Department at VPBank Securities, and Sanjay Kalra, International Monetary Fund (IMF) resident representative of Vietnam/Laos.

Kustas is set to provide an overview of the global and regional economy, while Weisblatt will analyse Vietnam’s GDP growth, foreign direct and indirect investment flows and development in the context of key indicators including inflation, interest rates, government bond yields and stock indices. He will also discuss the impacts of upcoming FTAs Vietnam plans to sign. Finally, Kalra will present on foreign investors’ views on Vietnam.

The chief organiser of the event is Nguyen Duc Vinh, CEO of VPBank, who will be joined by moderator Nguyen Anh Tuan, editor-in-chief of Vietnam Investment Review.

The conference will be held from 8am-12pm at the Melia Hotel in Hanoi.
