VIR reporters receive two National Journalism prizes

Reporter Pham Anh Minh and the trio of Nguyen Phong Lan, Bui Thu Trang and Do Thi Men  received two national journalism awards at the 11th National Journalism Award 2016 ceremony on June 21.

VIR reflects on National Press Day

The ceremony was held by the Vietnam Journalists Association on the same day as the 92nd anniversary of the Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day.

President Tran Dai Quang said in his speech at the event that he highly appreciated the contribution of this year’s award-winning journalists and newspapers to the country.

For 2016, the association handed out 95 prizes, including seven A prizes, 24 B prizes, 39 C prizes, and 25 consolation prizes.

Reporter Pham Anh Minh received Prize B from Ho Chi Minh City Party Secretary Nguyen Thien Nhan for the five-part feature titled “Distortion at BOT transport infrastructure projects” posted on the website of VIR’s sister newspaper baodautu.vn
Reporter Nguyen Phong Lan represented the trio with Bui Thu Trang and Do Thi Men to receive Prize C for the four-part feature titled “Land-the black hole for government assets during the process of equitisation and state capital divestment” posted on the website of VIR’s sister newspaper tinnhanhchungkhoan.vn

Last year, reporter Trinh Thi Thuy Lien received the A prize for the feature titled “The big battle named FTA” posted on VIR’s sister newspaper baodautu.vn.
