The first UNIQLO store will be at Parkson Saigon Tourist Plaza in Ho Chi Minh City |
The first store in Vietnam, the UNIQLO store will have three storeys at Parkson Saigon Tourist Plaza.
LifeWear is UNIQLO's commitment to creating perfect clothing that meets the needs of everyone’s daily lifestyles. High-quality, functional, affordable, and constantly evolving, LifeWear is available in a variety of colours and styles for people of all ages.
Previously, in April, the company issued recruitment information for sales and management staff. Accordingly, the compulsory requirements for staffs are having graduated university and speaking English.
In October 2018, UNIQLO registered to establish a joint venture in Vietnam between Fast Retailing Singapore (75 per cent) and Mitsubishi (25 per cent). The joint venture has a chartered capital of $8.8 million.
Vietnam is the 6th destination of UNIQLO in Southeast Asia, following Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, the Philippines, and Indonesia with over 213 stores as of the end of 2018. The store opening in Vietnam is expected to help the group realise its target to produce an average annual growth of 30 per cent in this region.
Besides, this move will help UNIQLO expand its brand on the global stage. In April, UNIQLO opened its first store in Copenhagen, Denmark. The highlight of the event is that two Indonesian garment factory workers, who made UNIQLO clothing for years, will be in Copenhagen as part of the global PayUp UNIQLO campaign.
In September, the company launched its first store in Italy, promising to be a beautiful window to showcase LifeWear and promote the UNIQLO brand.
Early this month, the company also opened its first store in India, one of its largest worldwide, becoming the latest global retailer to plunge into the huge but tough developing market.
UNIQLO is a brand of Fast Retailing Co., Ltd., a leading global Japanese retail holding company that designs, manufactures, and sells clothing under seven main brands: Comptoir des Cotonniers, GU, Helmut Lang, J Brand, Princesse tam.tam, Theory, and UNIQLO.
The UNIQLO brand is owned by Fast Retailing. This company has 2,220 stores in 24 countries with a revenue of $21.5 billion in the fiscal year of 2019.
