The increasing demand for information about Vietnam’s stock exchange has prompted Reuters to become the first international information vendor to offer live coverage of Vietnam’s stock prices.

Investors will be kept up to speed with the latest market developments
The global information company launched live price coverage on the Ho Chi Minh City stock exchange last week, following its release of live prices on the Hanoi stock exchange in January 2007. No other international information company is currently delivering live prices from either exchange.
“We are connecting Vietnam’s stock exchange to the world. There is an increasing demand for financial information on the Vietnamese markets following an investment boom into Vietnam’s stock market and high foreign direct investment growth,” said Eddie Haddad, Reuters managing director for Asean.
“Reuters customers around the world now have ability to see live prices giving them a substantial advantage in the fast-growing Vietnamese equity market via the Reuters 3000 Xtra service,” he said.
Reuters 3000 Xtra is a high-speed, integrated information and transaction service allowing investors to place orders via a desktop. The orders are routed directly to local brokers in Vietnam for execution over Reuters high-speed, secure equity order routing network.
In Vietnam, Reuters will cooperate with Thailand-based Bisnews AFE, a joint venture between Reuters Thailand Ltd. and a Hong Kong-based Reuters company, AFE Solutions Ltd., to transfer orders to brokers.
Bisnews Equities terminals will sit along with Reuters 3000 Xtra terminals scattered at all local securities companies, to enable brokers to receive offshore orders.
Reuters and Bisnews will also offer the Bisnews Equities Terminal service to domestic equity participants in Vietnam. The service provides updated Vietnamese stock and index prices, world stock market indices, major index future prices, major currencies’ spot rates, market reports on stock and foreign exchange markets.
“This new service will enable local brokers and their retail investors to conduct research using Bisnews’ powerful technical analysis tools,” said Haddad.
Bisnews service provides over 25 professional technical analysis models to customers, including models that no domestic securities company can provide so far.
“We are bringing the same sophisticated information service endorsed by professional users and retail investors in Thailand, to the equity market in Vietnam. With real-time technical analysis tools, real-time market data and news from Reuters, Bisnews Equities Terminal will provide clients with the best capability to support their trading decision-making,” said Francis Lau, Bisnews AFE’s chief executive officer.
