Quy Nhon Port makes strong profit in H1 despite COVID-19

Quy Nhon Port JSC handled over six million tonnes of goods in the first six months of 2021, despite the COVID-19 pandemic, 15 per cent more than last year, while after-tax profit almost doubled to VND115 billion ($5 million).

“Growth in goods handling enabled the port to make net revenue of VND365 billion($15.87 million), up 49 per cent against the same period last year,” said a representative of the port.

In the second quarter, the port made a net revenue of VND226 billion ($9.83 million), doubling its performance on-year.

The port is currently boosting new services and routes to maintain growth during the pandemic.

In 2021, the port set a revenue target of over VND886 billion ($38.52 million) with pre-tax profit of VND160 billion ($6.96 million), up 4 and 9 per cent on-year, respectively. The company claims the targets are viable as sea trade is on the rise and is projected to grow further in the months to come.
