NAB Vietnam marks inaugural Volunteer Day in Bac Ninh province

The event represented a significant milestone in NAB Vietnam’s dedication to supporting communities in northern Vietnam.

NAB Vietnam colleagues volunteer to support underprivileged children of Bac Ninh Centre for Social Protection

Established in 1977, the Bac Ninh Centre for Social Protection currently cares for more than 196 children, many of whom face challenges such as disabilities, abandonment, and orphanhood. NAB Vietnam’s colleagues dedicated their volunteer day to make a meaningful difference in these children’s lives by painting rooms, revitalising playgrounds, and donating air conditioning units.

Do Thanh Quang, director of the Bac Ninh Provincial Centre for Social Protection, expressed his appreciation for the contributions made by NAB Vietnam.

“We truly appreciate the contributions and support from NAB Vietnam colleagues, which will greatly motivate both teachers and children at the centre,” he said.

In response, Howard Silby, general director of NAB Vietnam, said, “We have deep respect for the dedication of the centre’s teachers and staff in caring for disadvantaged children. We stand together to support this great work, and our team members are very honoured to be part of this effort. With a long-term commitment, we aim to make a lasting, positive difference in the local community.”

Earlier this year, NAB Vietnam hosted a volunteer day in Can Gio, Ho Chi Minh City, where colleagues participated in planting 500 mangrove trees to support the preservation of ecosystems and contribute to the national goal of planting one billion trees by 2025.

Sustainability at the heart of NAB’s operations

A core element of NAB Vietnam’s sustainability approach is empowering colleagues to articipate in community engagement. With two paid volunteer leave days each year, NAB colleagues are encouraged to dedicate time to causes they are passionate about. This policy reflects NAB’s belief that fostering a culture of giving back is key to creating a positive and inclusive workplace and strengthening the company’s connections to the communities it serves.

NAB Vietnam’s projects in Bac Ninh and Can Gio are not isolated efforts; they’re part of a broader, comprehensive sustainability strategy that spans all areas of its operations. Recently, the centre joined forces with other business leaders at the VietHarvest CEO Cook Off to support the vulnerable communities. During Typhoon Yagi, NAB Vietnam also raised funds to assist the victims.
