Alber earlier impressed the Hanoi audience by conducting Beethoven’s 9th Symphony performed by the Philharmonic Chorus Berlin and VNSO at the opening of the “Cultural Year of Germany in Vietnam 2010” and the Brahms Concerto five years ago.
At “Beethoven Cycle” concert Vol. 119, the German conductor will conduct Ludwig van Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No.3, Op. 37 and Symphony No.6, Op. 68 “Pastoral”, featuring piano soloist Tamura Hibiki.
Alber is a sought-after conductor both on the concert podium and at leading international opera houses. He is currently a guest conductor for symphonic orchestras and opera companies in Europe, Asia, South America, New Zealand and South Africa.
As one of the most acknowledged orchestras in Vietnam, VNSO has gained acclaim and appreciation from the audience, musical critics and colleagues in Vietnam and Asia under the direction of Japanese principal conductor Tetsuji Honna.
The series of Beethoven Cycle concerts by VNSO will last until the legendary German composer Beethoven’s 250th birth anniversary in 2020.
“Beethoven Cycle” concert Vol. 119 will take place at the Hanoi Opera House, starting at 8 p.m.
