Deo Ca Group teams up with SOH for Vietnam's first wind tunnel lab

SOH Wind Engineering experts will collaborate with Deo Ca on the design, construction, technology transfer, and operational training for the wind tunnel lab.

“We are ready to connect Deo Ca with our partners in Denmark and Europe to serve Deo Ca's future operations,” he added.

According to the plan, the wind tunnel lab will belong to the Deo Ca Research and Training Institute, which was jointly established by Deo Ca Group and the Ho Chi Minh City University of Transport in September. The Institute's aim is to train high-quality human resources for the transport industry.

“Deo Ca Group's establishment of a cutting-edge research and training institute is the right step for training and supplying human resources for the future development of Vietnam's transport infrastructure,” said Hansen.

Commenting on the cooperation between Deo Ca Group and SOH Wind Engineering, Tong Tran Tung, head of the Technical Advisory Group under the management of the Minister of Transport, said, "This is the first step for Deo Ca to conduct wind tunnel experiments for cable-stayed bridge projects in Vietnam and I believe that this partnership will result in a new generation of high-quality engineers to develop the country's transport infrastructure.”

At the meeting, Ho Minh Hoang, chairman of Deo Ca Group, invited SOH Wind Engineering leadership to Vietnam to discuss the project and agree on methods, deadlines, and budgets for the lab.

SOH Wind Engineering is a major wind engineering firm, specialising in testing and analysing wind impact and aerodynamic forces on complex buildings. SOH has over 25 years of experience in testing the impact of wind on large-span cable-stayed bridges in countries around the world.

The company has offices and international standard wind tunnel labs in Denmark and North America, and an office in Malaysia.
