Vietnam has huge potential investment opportunities for the UK businesses, particularly in area of infrastructure development, said the Lord Mayor of the City of London on September 7.

David Wootton made the remark at a press briefing in London before heading a 20 businesses people delegation to Vietnam this month to further develop bilateral trade and investment opportunities between Vietnam and the UK.

During his visit, David Wootton will work with political and business leaders to identify public private partnership (PPP) pilot projects in Vietnam, he said.

He expressed his hope that business links forged on this visit will add to the two countries’ ambitions to raise two-way trade to $4 billion

by 2013 and increase UK direct investment in Vietnam.

David Wootton will visit both Hanoi and HCM City between September 22-26 after he goes to China and Hong Kong (China), starting from September 11.
