The certification came after 98 per cent of employees at Cisco Systems Vietnam said the company is a great place to work in a survey conducted by the Great Place to Work organisation. Cisco Vietnam’s results were much higher than the average for a typical global company, which stands at 53 per cent.
Cisco, a world leader in IT and networking, has launched several initiatives to ensure that its company culture is one of its key differentiators. One of the bedrock’s of Cisco’s culture is the focus on six key principles for its employees. These are: Giving your best, Taking accountability, Giving your ego a day off, Taking difference to heart, Giving something of yourself, and Taking a bold step.
These principles then help deliver what Cisco proudly calls Conscious Culture. Simply put, Conscious Culture at Cisco is a way of life where employees are fully aware of and accountable for creating the environment they all desire – one with dignity, respect, fairness, and equity, and feel empowered to act when they see behaviour that is not aligned with this vision.

Conscious Culture puts full-spectrum diversity and inclusion on par with the company’s most important business strategies. It is backed by executive leadership, and advanced by digital tools that help the company measure progress.
It builds on the We Are Cisco manifesto, which honours inclusion, collaboration, bold risk-taking, respect, and customer centricity as a recipe for innovation.

“It is truly an honour for Cisco Vietnam to receive the Great Place to Work certification for the very first time. This award could not have been more timely as we also celebrated two decades of Cisco in Vietnam last year. As we continue to leverage the technology to positively impact the lives of nearly over 100 million people across the country, we are also doing the same for our employees,” said Thuy Thi Le Luong, managing director of Cisco Systems Vietnam.
“Our employees are our greatest asset, and our achievements would not be possible without them. While the pandemic has impacted how we operate, I am proud to see our teams embracing these changes and overcoming challenges to deliver results for our customers. I believe we are well-placed to harness the opportunities presented in the new normal and the hybrid workforce of the future.”
Cisco Vietnam team |
For the last 21 years, Cisco Systems Vietnam has defined innovation, reimagined connections, and pushed the limits of what is possible. Over the last few decades, Cisco has empowered businesses across Vietnam to transform experiences and improve the lives of millions of people by leveraging its technology and solutions.
At the same time, the company is also committed to positively impact communities, governments, and businesses around the world, including Vietnam.
Accordingly, Cisco’s Time2Give programme gives local employees seven days a year to volunteer. Employees can choose to use this time to advocate for causes they care deeply about, taking action to help the environment, volunteering, donating, and participating in integrated programmes.
“This recognition is testament to our strong values and the diverse, inclusive and thriving culture here at Cisco. Our Conscious Culture is what sets us uniquely apart from everyone else,” said Lekha George, head of People and Communities, ASEAN, and South Korea at Cisco. “Our people are our greatest asset, and it has been incredibly heartening to see our amazing team come together to overcome the challenges this past year, and to celebrate our successes and emerge stronger from this shared experience.”
