Chon Thanh-Dak Nong Railway will be constructed by 2030

The railway is part of the projects calling for foreign investment in the 2021-2025 period, which Deputy Prime Minister Pham Binh Minh approved earlier this month. The list currently includes 157 projects with a total investment capital of $71.46 billion, covering transport infrastructure, industrial zone (IZ), energy, IT, education and medical, waste treatment system, agriculture, forestry and fishery production, and services.

Having a total length of 67km and a width of 1,435m, the project connects the southern province of Binh Phuoc to the Central Highlands province of Dak Nong.

It is expected to become a bridge for goods transportation between the southern key economic region and the Central Highlands region. The railway will contribute to promoting socioeconomic development and drive investment towards the Central Highlands region and Dak Nong.

In April, Dak Nong People’s Committee submitted a proposal to the prime minister to develop Chon Thanh-Dak Nong in the 2021-2030 period. According to the proposal, the first section to be built would be the Gia Nghia-Chon Thanh section during 2021-2025.
